ME, MYSELF AND AI
(Notes on Apocalypse)
A new motive in Dagnini’s works is escalating dependency from AI. Trying to save ourselves some time, we are outsourcing our own thought processes whilst also helping the mega corporations to waste nature's resources and harvest our personal data. For the sake of reducing the effort we expend, we choose to rely on a given: random conclusions based on a pile of unverified facts. Constant dialogue with the machine is not just a tool (at times not really a better one then Microsoft Clippy Assistant) but also a way to overcome loneliness by talking to simulation.

This work illustrates a tragicomical inconsistency in the use of artificial intelligence. It is no secret that even the simplest task performed by AI uses a significant amount of energy and natural resources. For the sake of getting a quick answer to often clearly unimportant, unserious, irrelevant questions, we choose to sacrifice the essential finite pure water. At times, we demonstrate a particularly exquisite level of detachment by unnecessarily delegating tasks related to the very theme of a global ecological crisis. According to ChatGPT, one of the very popular demands is help writing a paper or an essay on this subject matter. The politics of our planet's use of resources is rarely a priority. The desire to save time and effort—regardless of the cost—usually wins in work life, household routine and even idleness. Apparently another popular demand of AI is people asking for help deciding if they should cut their hair or not.
