Red List of Heroes of Might and Magic
Project in progress. First part shown in Ground gallery
Those born in perestroika and the early nineties played the same games on their PCs, chose the same role models from society and places to hang out in. This zine is research on a "threatened species" — disappearing subcultures, popular in the school years of that generation. The magazine asks a rhetorical question – where have the emo-punks and other heroes of our passing time gone. The illustrations are based on computer games such as "Heroes of Might and Magic 3" and television shows, the characters are "played" by figures from the cult series "The Streets of Broken Lights". Nostalgia for that time lives on in the internet, on forums and social networks, in the form of digital pictures, memes and message boards.
